Barack Obama is gaining great momentum. Witness his trouncing yesterday of Hillary in the Virginia, Maryland and DC votes. He looks like the inevitable Democrat nominee, though look for Bill and Hillary to somehow try to “steal” it at the convention via “superdelegates” or try to ring up the Florida and Michigan banned delegates. Either way, Obama or Hillary, the Dems will have a pro-abortion candidate on the ticket in November.

I have posted several times on this. Here, here, here, here, here and here.

John Frame, the J.D. Trimble Chair of Systematic Theology and Philosophy at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, has written on the sixth commandment and the protection of life. It is an excellent article which every Christian should read, especially if you are a Christian thinking about voting for a pro-abortion candidate. Here is a brief excerpt:

This issue makes a strong demand on the Christian’s attention, time, passion, and energy. We need to do something. None of us alone can do the job that needs to be done, but we can all do something. Support your local pro-life crisis pregnancy center. These organizations are under legal and moral attack from Planned Parenthood and the pro-choice establishment. Volunteer as a counselor if you are gifted for that. Preach sermons on this subject if you are a pastor; for many in our churches are confused as to what the Bible teaches, and like wayward sheep they are getting their moral standards from talk shows and magazines. Demonstrate; carry the sign “Abortion Kills Children,” for that sign tells the simple truth. Plead with women as they enter abortion clinics. Write to newspaper editors and government officials. Support pro-life candidates for office, and withhold support for otherwise promising candidates who favor abortion.[1] Use legal means to harrass abortionists and make it difficult for them to practice. Abortion may be legal, but we don’t have to have it in our communities if we don’t want it, any more than we have to have landfills or peepshows.[2]

[1] Normally I oppose single-issue politics. But we are dealing here with a kind of holocaust: roughly 1.5 million lives a year. In my judgment, this issue outweighs all others in the current political discussion.

[2] For a discussion of Operation Rescue’s approach, see Chapter 32.

Read his entire excellent paper here. By the way, can anyone give a sound explanation and rationale for casting a vote for a pro-abortion candidate? Anyone?

Perhaps Billary can lie, cheat, steal, and have some of the delegates mysteriously disappear, so that they can get the nomination–those are all things that they’re good at. Seriously though, great post. It really puts all of the issues in perspective: do I want to help kill unborn babies or not.

On a side note, did you know that in MO, the state can put a pregnant women in jail if she is caught doing drugs because it’s considered abuse to her unborn child, but that same women can choose to kill that same child? Just shows the immense schizophrenia that exists in our legal system.

TG, it is even more schizo than just that. See my post:

Our tax dollars will then provide transportation to get her to the abortionist!!
